July 22nd
Well this diary is for yesterday´s story...
Well lots of people asked me ¨what happened to you!¨ and with a surprising, caring, frown face...ok...sorry guys, I ´m not making fun of you, but since I´ve been asked the same question many times, I found my answer is getting more concise with detailed description...:) Here it is what I usually answer: I twisted my foot when trying to run in my high heels chasing after the bus on my way to work.
To get some funny aspect, I prefer adding some background such as you know...I´ve weared the same flat shoes for several days, and just exactly that day, I decide to wear the high heel one for a change...
Well, seriously I´ve been running in high heels many times...nothing happened.
Now some sad part, when I found out I couldn´t walk after i twisted the foot, I was really getting nervous, sitting at the bus station, trying to call my boss and my colleague, my tears just couldn´t stop falling...You can imagine how bad you feel that you couldn´t move a step towards your home which is probably only 50 meters away...
So I kept sitting on the bench of the bus stop, letting the tears falling down, waiting for my colleague...who took longer than usually it takes to find me...I saw her finally, at that time, she was like an angel, really, an angel...Alba...she used to be a dancer and she is so slim, but she actually managed to put me into the cab, later on in the hospital, put me into the wheelchair, and pushed me and the wheelchair across the street...and all the way inside the hospital...she was there for me...
I used to hear lots of bad things about public hospital of Spain, but that day, I barely waited for anything, when people knew I´m a foreigner and don´t speak Spanish, they seemed to be very patient with me and nice.....
There are time four doctors discussing about my x'ray, and I knew they were talking about me, for instance, some would talk and look at me,,and talk again...that was the only time I felt a little bit stupid not able to understand what they were talking...but was fine, I hope soon I ´ll figure out some practical solution of how to deal with my class...
Anyway I´m looking forward to going to my host family...where there are host father Javier, mother Rosa, sister Paula and brothers Alex, Jose, Lucas, and a Brazilian aunt...:) actually not bad at all!

Diary of her mastress´ white leg (1)
July 23rd
I had an absolutely fun time after breaking my foot...after coming to Spain most of my days are gray, not because people are bad, it is just because of social, cultural differences, language problems, tough studies, and working cultures....I had difficult adaptation time here...
But it seems my bad days are gone...I have never felt so much taken care of, and my happiness come back, like the bird...I can just be myself, no worries about work, social life, money, eating...
It reminds me one of my colleague´s saying...when u need something, you ask, then when u r asked to give, you give...
I´m full of love now...I want to give the love back one day...
Ok¨here is my menu today:
Breakfast: cereal, milk, with pear by Parveen-----really healthy...and sweet
Lunch: Toasted bread with potato inside, with ketch up, and i was amazed at the way she made the chocolate milk shake by Dyvia
Dinner: fresh vegetables with tomato, pasta with cheese inside by Laurence, secret iced tea by Jessica. Jessica bitched a lot about some colleague sitting in front of her, well, I had fun just bitching together with her...and her dad´s expericnes of breaking arms...Laurence told me stories about her dad´s stories breaking two legs....
Well, it seems many people have to break their legs or arms once in a while during their lives...well I´ve got mine...and luckily not a serious one....
I also had a nice injection by Capal, he studied my x`ray...and confirmed with me it is just a small fracture...jajajaja
I also had calls from Yanire, who told me how she took advantage of breaking+foot days to write a book...and i can do many things...
call from Geoffroy that i should paint my while leg with style....:)
call from Paula that I confirmed with her I´ll have chance sitting in the wheel chair ...:) and nice to know her mother´s friend is willing to take care of me as well....woooooooo, I feel like a popular star now...yes...i m now her master´s white leg...
of course, call from Sugata...but now she is having fun in her boss´s party...i wish her black dress with yellow flower wont drop...jejeje
Ok, enough of writing...tomorrow I´ll figure out how to tell the story in a bright manner to my parents...should be ok now...

Oxford
Three things which made my Oxford trip really pleasant:
1) Extremely relaxed wandering around the academically renown university town. My first text in our University English class was Oxford University. After 13 years, I'm finally here, a little bit unreal though, jejeje...
I especially admire this reading room with the dome-shaped roof, and walking around the academic town was simply joy.
2) Hundreds of years old post box. I swear no one will pay special attention to those red color post boxes embedded into walls on Oxford's narrow and pebbled street. But they are from Victoria's times...really really old...
And some post boxes with similar styles are still alive in Windsor, since VII days. (sorry, I just forgot the exact name of the times when they were first installed, anyway much older than all of us currently alive in the world :-)
3) Three totally different types of books with "buy 3 get 1 free" offer from the most famous & non-chained book store "Blackwell" in town. Yes, the only one in UK, jejeje.
Form me, buying books is just like buying clothes, first you have a glance of the store picturing the whole range of stuff on the shelf. After that, you get some general idea which type you are going to have a further look, some book cover is designed really bad, simply ignoring it, you will never read it; it is the same as selecting the clothes, you have to fall in love with it at first sight, if any hesitance arises, it is not yours, most possibly you will leave it at the corner of your cabinet after wearing it only once. If the book title seems appealing to you, then it is usually worth having a quick glance of the table content, the general intro on the back cover, or to see if the bio of author is interesting. Now I simply ignore those short reviews, many times, they all sound the same, and I find even worse that nowadays these comments are more similar to comments given to Oscar winner movies, repeated words such as "brilliant" "passionate, witty" ""sparkling", etc.

Whatever comes to mind about UK
This is my first picture in UK, now putting here only as a "starter" as well as a "milestone" of my following lengthy description, jejeje...
I love the acres and acres of green lawn everywhere throughout London, in Bracknell (small town west of London where my friend "Little Nie" recently built her nest :p),
Windsor (where Windsor Castle stands, the alternative palace of the queen), Oxford (I'm sure you know it), even Bath Spa (said to be the only world heritage place of UK, isn't it?).
How can it be so green??!!
I ran into the St James's Park along the The Mall street which leads to Buckingham Palace, the queen's official residence. In central city, such a green park is a luxury for me. In Windsor, you can see huge green fields with only 1-2 trees standing in the green middle every 50m perhaps, trees with complicated twisted sticks yet without leafs on them. It reminds me of those fairy tales I read in childhood, the queen ofher majesty would just wander around the green land with a royal dog accompanying her. "But my friends told me that the queen only takes cereals as breakfast and drives Jaguar, not that fancy as we assume. Well the whole country seems to "gossip" their royal family a lot by whichever possible means, but I do think people give due respect to their queen who in nowadays is a high-profile PR ambassador for UK.
Oops, where am I. Lost track of my topic...
Now London time 11:23pm, still 5.5 hours to go before check-in.
Thanks to "Cafe Bar" in London Luton Airport so that I had place and hot drinks to keep warm to write all these blah blah blah...
Just wonderful, jaja.
Well now come my complaints.
First, not very surprisingly, the dramatic-tempered weather.
My 2 days walking in central London were memories of wind, hunger, museum, dizziness...Talking about today, in the early morning, sunshine, then at noon started raining, suddenly very heavy rain just poured down, late afternoon, hails, then snow! Can you imagine??!! It was Mar. 22rd, and in spring, come on!
A view from Christie's home window: Moody...going to rain... Exactly the same place, but going out of control, hails and snow flakes...Dio mio!
Positive thinking of civilized people like us (oops:-):
This only implies how lucky our life in Madrid, 10 months of the year, whenever stepping out of home and walking on the street, always blue, blue, blue, pure blue sky, not even a tiny cloud above your head...No Complaint about Madrid!
Second, "La gente en los reyes unidos solamente come Zanahoria(Carrots)"
"No hay vegetables nada, todos se importan de espana"
Verdad?
No veges grown in UK except carrots, almost all veges are from Spain. Because the weather make UK an ideal place to grow fantastic grass.
Well, really tired, not esay task sitting at airport.
Happiness, satisfaction, enjoyment: People make difference. I have to confess this expression sounds like cliche, but...true...apart from my above complains, my spending time with friends was full of joy, caring, sharing, and understanding...just fantastic!

The Rising of the Lark
What is long made from?
What cloth is put into it
That it does not wear out with use?
Gold wears out, and silver wears out,
Velvet wears out, and silk wears out,
Yet longing does not wear out.
The moon rises and the sun rises,
The sea rises in vast waves,
But longing never rises from the heart.
Welsh, Seventeenth Century.

One friend came to Madrid, bringing the air of homeland, yet also with my doubts about some discussion.
"Nowadays it is better to choose a girlfriend when you were both in universities, this way, you knew her completely..."...
Righttttttttttt???????????
I doubted...
Yes, if you know her from the very beginning, you know the "root", the very original version of her, If you both keep dating for years, this will help you "completely understand" her. Oops, do you think you can ever "fully understand" a woman? My 1st doubt :-)
Ok, now you got a fully "trackable" woman with whom you cultivate some security to share your life with. Time goes...then, many times, a "inconvenient truth" is that you got bored with her (maybe not her, yes, boz you think she is a perfect original version of yours), but you definitely got bored with your life, or maybe yourself.

La Noche de Feliz Ano Nuevo 2008
It was a really excited, a little bit stupid yet very pleasant, exhausted night after living in Madrid about 14 months. We are eleven people with 3 persons from Spain, 2 from Finland, 1 from Germany, 2 from Argentina, 2 from Britain, and me. It was really INTERNATIONAL :-)
We had a nice party in guapa Emilia's friend, Taija's apartment, where we tried belly dancing, not very professional though.
Then we went to La Puerta del Sol where Madrilenons usually hold their new year night celebrations, that is, crazy dancing, endless drinking, screaming (trying to gain attention from tons of people packed in the plaza in our case :p), eating 12 grapes...until hardly no one was able to stand still.
Walking slowly arm by arm with friends (thank god we had enough people taking care of each other and not getting lost at that chilly & restless night), my mind was completely awake by the time we reached Taija's friend's apartment with extremely exotic style of decoration, where all of us sat around the table, trying different drinks, joking, laughing...It was quite fun for me as this was my very first time to be with all Spanish-speaking people while not feeling left out at all. Well, a good sign, jaja!
